Twickenham & District Model Railway Club was formed in 1961 and now has approximately 70 members. Our membership has a wide range of interests and skills and our layouts and club facilities reflect that diversity.
Members can take as much, or as little, from the club as they want. Some join to be able to run their trains, some prefer building layouts or realistic operation. Many members just enjoy the company of fellow enthusiasts and drop in for a coffee and a chat, or to watch a video. There is a lot of expertise in the club; if you have a modelling problem, another club member usually has the solution. These are some of the benefits of membership:- |

MULTI GAUGE RUNNING TRACK
If you're interested in running trains - this is for you. All popular scales and gauges are represented and quite a few not so popular ones as well! Our multi gauge running track can accommodate N/OO9/HOe, TT/HOm/On2, OO/HO/On30, EM, P4/On3, O ( 2 & 3 rail )/SM32 and G. |

SCALE LAYOUTS
We currently have seven layouts at various stages of development covering many different themes - N, N (trams), OO, O and G. Members can help build them, run them and ultimately exhibit them on the exhibition circuit. |
LIBRARY
Our rapidly expanding library is now a major club asset, with many members having a quiet read whilst enjoying a cup of tea in our new social area. Club members can, of course, borrow reference books to help them with their latest modelling project. |

YOUTH SECTION
We have a very active youth section who are currently working on a small OO scale layout called "Kerswell & Tidmeric Light Railway". Experienced members are on hand to provide advice and assistance. |
CLUB TRIPS
We run an annual trip to places of railway interest. We usually try to include a special "behind the scenes" feature not available to the ordinary visitor. |
SOCIAL EVENTS
The club organises several social events during the year, including a Xmas Party, summer BBQ and live steam day.
FEATURE NIGHTS
The Club offers a varied programme throughout the year. Future plans include a modelling course designed to turn a train set into a model railway. Topics covered will include baseboard construction, track-laying, soldering, wiring and scenery.
