The
latest T&DMRC 'N 'Gauge project, "Batty
Moor", is inspired by the Settle to Carlisle
line. The layout is based on Blea Moor sidings which
are situated just north of the Ribblehead, or Batty
Moss, viaduct and this choice will allow the group
to model an area that changed very little between
1945 and 1985. Although the layout is compressed
it gives the viewer a taste of the 'Midland Route',
or the 'Long Drag' as it was known, in one of the
remotest parts of Britain.
The layout is up and running, but there is still a lot of work to be done. Most club nights we work on the layout, but the last Friday of every month sees a running session. Alternate months are a 'test track evening' when members' stock, of any prototype, can be run over the long continuous circuits that the track plan offers. Members' interests vary considerably from British pre-nationalisation to modern image, Japanese, North American and South African. We are seeking new members interested in becoming involved with building the layout and visitors are always welcome.
