It's Saturday October 30th 2004, and the famous Ji Tong line in northern China is still running 40% double headed steam combinations. As from the following Monday, dieselisation may be completed. Just one last attempt at "the Nigel Harris shot" with steam train in the foreground and the famous curved viaduct in the background.

The Yinghao narrow gauge system was only discovered by western enthusiasts
in June 2004 and its future is very uncertain, but it provides an
interesting contrast to Chinese standard gauge. 19/10/04
