T&DMRC TO BUILD LIVE STEAM TRACK FOR 32MM AND 45MM GAUGE

Twickenham MRC's small group of "Live Steamers" are to get their own dedicated test track. Live steam is banned from the Club's Multi Gauge Running Track and so the Club is building a separate track for the benefit of the five or six members with live steam locos. Initially the layout is being built for 32mm gauge, but later plans include making it 32/45 dual gauge with a separate preparation bay. The test track can be set up either indoors or outdoors and will be available to take to model railway shows and local events.

Multi Gauge Running Track

The Club's new Multi Gauge Running Track (MGRT) is now up and running. It enables members to run stock in any of the popular scales.

NEW 'OO' EXHIBITION LAYOUT GIVEN THE GO-AHEAD

T&DMRC's committee have recently given the go-ahead to an ambitious new project which will form the basis for several new 16.5mm gauge exhibition layouts over the next few years. The basic concept is for a layout approximately 30' x 9' with a “common fiddle yard” and a choice of drop-in fronts - which could be British Modern Image, British Steam Era, American, European, etc.
