An early stage of track laying
Milton ‘N’
This project represents a new approach to layout building within the club and is privately funded with each 3ft module owned by the participating member.
The eight identical modules are based on a design idea in ‘Railway Modeller’ and assemble as a back-to-back 4 x 2 formation with two end boards, making a double sided continuous run layout.
All baseboard components were jig cut to ensure good alignment and are of a ‘box’ construction with integral back-scene board and lighting pelmet.
‘The country side’
The layout is now complete, the continuous run having a townscape on one side and ‘country’ on the other. A passing loop is provided in the up and down lines on both sides to provide storage for additional trains. The two end boards which also house the simple controls are not sceniced.

One of the basic modules, inspired from an article in Railway Modeller’
‘Milton’ was named in honour of a late Club member, Dave Milton.
Dave was a fine ‘n’gauge modeller and inspiration to others in the Club
The Club welcomes modellers of all abilities.
