Siege Street
This ‘N’ scale model depicts an industrial scene in the north of England, in the immediate post-war period.
Principal features are: the operating tramway, the canal and numerous factories. The relative lack of motor traffic is entirely typical of the period; in those days the pollution came principally from factory chimneys, not exhaust pipes!
Track is, of necessity, hand-built whilst the buildings are a mix of kit and scratch built structures.
Although this layout has been in the club for some considerable time it still retains the interest of the original small team, a good example that small can be as interesting as much larger layouts!
