The model depicts an industrial scene in the north of England, in the immediate post-war period.
Principal features are: the operating tramway, the canal and numerous factories. The relative lack of motor traffic is entirely typical of the period; in those days the pollution came principally from factory chimneys, not exhaust pipes!
Recently the layout has been reduced in size to 2 baseboards making it more easily transportable. Watch out for it on the exhibition circuit!
