Parkshot Junction was developed
from its predecessor "Rickenham". It was designed
to accept a wide variety of member's stock, whether being fine
scale or "ready to run". It can be readily used as
a test track, if required. Consequently it is not modelled on
any particular location or company at any specific time. We
pretend that it most nearly represents an ex LMS and GWR joint
line, possibly in the Shrewsbury area from the heyday of steam
in the 1930's to the present day. What is sometimes unusual
is that its generous size permits the running of full-length
trains at express speeds. Another feature of the layout is the
working colour light signals.
