The club's annual summer outing tries to add something "extra" to what the casual visitor usually gets from a trip to a railway event. Wherever we're going we always try to include a pub lunch on the way; and this is often the most popular part of the day!
On a recent club visit twenty members and friends visited the Didcot Railway Centre. Our trip was timed to coincide with the running of the GWS's new replica broard gauge loco - "Firefly". In the tradition of earlier club trips we were able to offer members something "extra" not usually available to the casual visitor. This year it was an old fashioned English Tea in the Royal Saloons, complete with home made cakes and scones with cream and jam!
