TWICKENHAM JUNCTION is T&DMRC's new continuous run OO layout which will eventually be 32ft x 9ft overall with a 25ft long scenic section. Work began on this ambitious project in April 2009 with a view to the layout making its first public appearance at the club's 50th Anniversary Exhibition in June 2011. Set in the early 1960s, the layout will showcase steam and electric traction and group members are already building suitable stock for exhibition use to show a typical Southern Region train service. Like with most other clubs’ layouts though, on regular clubnights the layout will be available to all comers with any kind of OO/HO stock - so if you come down to the club in 2011 don't be surprised to see a Big Boy and 50 freight cars running!

TWICKENHAM JUNCTION is based on Twickenham’s Victorian station as it was before it was rebuilt in the 1940s/50s and it is the first layout to make use of the Club's new "OO/HO Common Fiddleyard". The fiddleyard will be available for future club projects in Modern Image BR or American HO or European HO – in fact any project that uses 16.5mm gauge track. The Twickenham Junction team will be working most Friday nights, but much of the construction will take place during the Club's Saturday sessions.

This is an ambitious project and part of the group's ethos is to pass on skills from the more experienced members to those just beginning in the hobby.
