Layout Project Proposal

At the start of the 2016 club year, the committee approved funding for the construction of a new ‘00’ layout project.

This layout is intended to have an approximate time setting ranging from the post modernisation plan to the present day

We consider that many clubs do not embrace this period and ours has been no exception - until now.

We need more members to make this layout a reality, but we have some outline ideas taking shape such as the proposal outlined below:

Based on three actual lines in close proximity in West London, the plan draws together the National Rail West London Line (6), TfL Central (3) and the Tfl Hammersmith & Line (5) in a single station within a city scene-scape.

This is one of two variations for this location and outline proposals also exist for two further possible locations. At this stage nothing is decided.

It is intended that the layout uses our existing ‘Common Fiddle Yard’, connected to three new 5ft baseboards plus two 45deg angled boards to provide the connection and allowing for approximately 25ft of scenic railway.

In the longer term, the layout would be capable of being expanded to a maximum of five front baseboards, and still connect to the modular fiddle yard (This comprises fourteen tracks for storage with six running road connections at each end for flexibility of connection to the front layouts).

This page will be updated as the project takes shape. If you would like to be involved in this project, please get in touch. All ideas and suggestions will be welcomed.
