‘G09’  G scale, 45mm Gauge

The club's G-Scale layout is narrow gauge with a scale of 1:22.5. The layout comprises four boards to give a layout length of eighteen feet by 30 inches wide. We have tried to keep the boards light in weight by using high density polystyrene for some of the scenery and have avoided the use of plaster.


The building are all proprietary Pola with some modifications. The roofs of the buildings are removable allowing a change of location. For instance a corrugated roof for the Americas and a slate roof for Europe. This enables a variety of stock to be run.


The electrics are based around a digital control system, but the layout will support an analog loco. We have a lot of work to do on the railway and try to be innovative in our approach to modelling.
